G7 Summit: Trump Promises Osinbajo To Release $550m Abacha Loot

President Donald Trump of the United States of America has met his Nigerian counterpart, Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo at the ongoing G7 Summit.

The Summit is being held in Taormina, Italy where “Africa on the rise” is being discussed.

During the meeting, President Trump promised Acting President Osinbajo that he would release the $550 million loots stolen by the former head of State, Late General Sani Abacha.

Trump said the release will be effected once a settlement agreement is filed with the court in the case filed by the Nigerian Attorney Godson Nnaka.

According to our correspondent from the United States, “this is a great development and a promising future between the two leaders and the two countries.

“It is good publicity for Osinbajo and our people, if you understand what I mean,” he added.
