There is strong indication that the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje is set to tender his resignation as the leader of the party by Friday.

According to  DAILY NIGERIAN, Ganduje will be replaced with a national vice chairman of the party, pending convention of the ruling party in December.

The move, Diaspora Digital Media understand, is to address the agitation by stakeholders in the North Central region as well as growing internal oppositions against the party leader.

Ganduje, a former Governor of Kano State was appointed in August 2023 after the resignation of Abdullahi Adamu.

Since then, stakeholders from the North Central have been making a case for the return of the seat to the region.

Sources said Ganduje was persuaded to throw in the towel as the ruling party strategizes ahead of 2027.
