Gov Ayade Suspends Perm Sec over Schools’ Prayers’ Ban

Governor Ben Ayade [above] has suspended the Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Education in Cross River Sate, Mrs Anne Odey.

Mrs Anne Odey had directed that morning devotion and prayers in private and public primary and secondary schools be banned.

The State Security Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade, Mr Jude Ngaji, disclosed this to journalists, saying that the governor had ordered that the permanent secretary be suspended indefinitely with immediate effect.

The state government also lifted the ban on devotion and prayers in schools across the state.
