The Guadalupe River flooding in Kerr County, Texas, has resulted in a devastating loss of life, with the death toll currently standing at 59 people, including 21 children.

The flooding occurred on July 4, 2025, after torrential rains caused a 20-foot wall of water to surge downstream, catching residents and campers off guard.

59 people have died in Kerr County, with 38 adults and 21 children among the victims.

11 campers and one counselor from Camp Mystic, a Christian girls’ summer camp, remain unaccounted for.

Over 400 first responders from more than 20 agencies are working tirelessly to search for survivors and recover the deceased.

More than 850 people have been evacuated, with eight injured individuals receiving medical attention.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has expressed his condolences and asked for prayers for the affected residents, stating that emergency responders are working diligently to search for survivors.

President Trump has signed a disaster declaration for hard-hit Kerr County, allowing for federal assistance to support relief efforts.

The flooding has left the Texas Hill Country reeling, with families and communities affected by the tragedy.

Rescue teams are working around the clock to locate missing individuals and provide aid to those in need.

18 adults and four children have not been identified yet, and authorities are working to notify families of the victims.

The search for missing campers and counselor continues, with officials hoping to find survivors or recover the remains of those still unaccounted for .
