Rapper Gucci Mane was reportedly among victims of an alleged armed kidnapping and robbery that took place inside a Dallas music studio, according to federal authorities.
The shocking incident, said to have occurred on January 10, is now at the center of a major investigation announced by the U.S. Department of Justice. Officials revealed that nine individuals have been linked to the case, including rappers Pooh Shiesty and Big30.
Authorities allege that what began as a scheduled business meeting quickly turned into a violent situation. Several music industry figures had reportedly traveled to Dallas after being invited for discussions related to a recording deal.
According to investigators, once the victims arrived at the studio, the suspects allegedly carried out a coordinated armed takeover. Prosecutors claim that weapons were drawn, and those present were held against their will while valuables including jewelry, cash, and luxury watches were taken.
One of the most serious claims in the case is that a victim, believed to be Gucci Mane, was allegedly forced at gunpoint to sign documents connected to a recording contract release. Officials say an assault also occurred during the incident, with one victim reportedly choked to the point of near unconsciousness.
Further details from authorities suggest that one suspect blocked the exit to prevent escape, while others participated in restraining and robbing the victims. Investigators also allege that some stolen items later appeared on social media posts, potentially tying suspects to the crime.
Among those accused is Lontrell Williams Sr, who authorities claim played a role in planning and executing the operation.
Eight suspects have been arrested so far, while one individual remains at large. The case is still under investigation, and no final judgments have been made. All individuals involved are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
The incident has raised serious concerns within the music industry, highlighting the potential dangers surrounding private business meetings and disputes behind the scenes.
