Gunmen Abduct 32 Burial Guests In Ondo

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted 32 persons who were returning from a burial ceremony in Edo State.

The abduction took place on Saturday around Ifon area in the Ose local government area of Ondo State.

They were said to be returning to Akure, after attending the burial and were stopped by the hoodlums along the Benin-Ifon Road.

It was gathered that the kidnappers ordered the victims out of their vehicles and marched them, including their drivers, to an unknown place in the forest.

Some of the occupants however escaped while being taken to the kidnappers’ den but many of the victims are still with the kidnappers.

Following the development, officers of the Amotekun Corps immediately started searching for the abducted persons from Benin-Ifon to Owo forest.

Adetunji Adeleye, Commandant of the corps in the state, confirmed the incident.

He added that the command would do everything possible to rescue the victims.
