Gunmen abduct Abuja residents near Abacha barracks

Police authorities in Abuja have commenced investigation into the abduction of individuals near the Abacha Barracks bypass in Guzape, the federal capital territory.

According to police intelligence sources, the incident occurred on February 25 at approximately 11:31pm

“Upon arriving at the scene, officers found two abandoned vehicles: a black Toyota Prado Land Cruiser with registration number Abuja RBC 900 SF, identified as belonging to Hon. Shagala Samuel, and a Honda Civic with registration number RSH 181 TH.

“It is suspected that the occupants of the vehicles may have been abducted by the armed assailants,” one of the police source said.

News Band understand that the police team searched the area, including nearby bushes, but neither the victims nor the gunmen were found.

In response, security operatives at key entry and exit points across the FCT have been placed on heightened alert.

Also, the abandoned vehicles were recovered and moved to the police station for further examination.

The command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit has intensified efforts to locate the victims and apprehend those responsible for the attack.

Meanwhile, residents have been urged to stay alert and report any suspicious activities, with the police assuring the public that all efforts are being made to rescue the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
