Gunmen have abducted Mrs. Patience Nasamu, wife of Pastor Samuel Nasamu of the Word of God Church, Agyaragu, Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Afemale church member who was visiting at the time was also taken.
The attackers stormed the pastor’s residence around 8:15 pm on Sunday, firing gunshots into the air to force their way inside.
They left behind the couple’s three-month-old baby, sparking widespread fear across the community.
Pastor Nasamu, confirming the incident to reporters, said the gunmen tried to break into the house by smashing windows and doors with a hammer but were stopped by metal protectors.
He explained that the abduction occurred shortly after church service when he had stepped out to pray for a sick member.
“I had just gone to pray for someone when my wife called me. All I could hear was her praying; she could not even explain what was happening.
By the time I got back, she and our visitor had been taken away, leaving our baby behind,” the cleric said.
He added that officers from the Nasarawa State Police Command have since visited the scene for assessment. However, the kidnappers have not yet contacted the family with any ransom demand.
The incident has heightened tension in Agyaragu, with residents expressing concern over rising insecurity in the area.
