KOGI STATE, NIGERIA – In a brazen act of violence, armed assailants stormed the family residence of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan early Tuesday morning. The attack, which occurred around 1:00 a.m., sent shockwaves through the Obeiba-Ihima community in Okehi Local Government Area. Witnesses reported at least three attackers armed with cutlasses and firearms, heightening fears over rising insecurity.

According to intelligence sources, Yakubu Ovanja, the senator’s Chief Security Officer, immediately alerted authorities. The assailants vandalized the property, smashing windows and leaving behind extensive damage. Fortunately, no lives were lost, but the incident has left residents deeply unsettled. Security forces from the Okehi Division swiftly responded, securing the scene and launching an investigation.
