Gunmen go berserk, kill many in Anambra nightclub

Many fun seekers have been allegedly killed in Anambra State after gunmen stormed a nightclub in the state said to belong to celebrity traditional doctor, Akwa Okuko.

This medium gathered that the unfortunate incident occurred in Oba, Idemili North local government area of Anambra State where the nightclub known as Porsche is located.

According to an eyewitness account, the gunmen came to abduct the owner of the club but were resisted by security men attached to the club.

“As a result of the resistance, the gunmen started shooting sporadically, killing many people in the process.

“They also beheaded one of the security men who resisted them from taking the owner of the nightclub”.

When NewsBand Newspaper contacted Christian Aburime, press secretary to governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, he confirmed the attack but said he will get back for more details.

Meanwhile, the spokesman of the command in Anambra State, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the attack to Dailypost in a phone call.

He said: “Yes, the incident happened. Our men were alerted and they quickly moved to the scene of the incident but the gunmen had already fled.

“Our men have recovered the bodies of the vigilante operatives who were fatally wounded, while others sustained various degrees of injury.

“We have also fully deployed our men to Oba and an operation is ongoing. So far, no arrest has been made”.
