Gunmen kill DELSU prof, Olisaemeka Chukwuma

Gunmen have assassinated Professor Olisaemeka Chukwuma, a lecturer at the Delta State University, Abraka.

According to media reports, Chukwuma, 56, returned to his home town, Umueji in Asaba, Delta State on Friday evening, Jan. 24, to spend the weekend when the gunmen killed him in his house.

Prof. Chukuwuma usually returns home every weekend and it appeared the assailants were aware of this.

Friends and colleagues have gone on Facebook to mourn him while calling om the authorities to hunt down his killers.

Meanwhile, the spokesman of Delta State Police command, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the killing, adding that the police are looking into the case with a view to arresting the perpetrators.
