Three Reverend Fathers were reportedly killed in Nasarawa State on Tuesday, sparking outrage among Christian communities and advocacy groups across Nigeria.
The report was first made public by a Christian group known as Preach The Gospel Ministry, which shared the news on its verified X (formerly Twitter) account.
In the post, the group wrote: “These are the 3 Reverend Fathers killed in Nasarawa yesterday. #SaveNigerianChristians NOW.”

The tragic report has since drawn wide condemnation online. Many Nigerians expressed anger over the unending attacks on Christian clerics and communities in the northern region.
The advocacy group’s message quickly gained traction, with thousands of users calling for urgent government action to end what they described as “targeted killings.”
As of press time, neither the police nor church authorities had officially confirmed the alleged killings. However, several online commentators insist that the silence from both state and federal authorities only deepens public fear and mistrust.
Christian leaders have repeatedly warned about the rising wave of violence against clergy and worshippers in the Middle Belt and northern Nigeria.
Earlier this year, Reverend Hayab, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Chairman in Kaduna, lamented that he had personally supervised the burial of nearly 2,000 victims of religiously motivated attacks over the years.
He described the killings as “systematic and heartbreaking,” warning that Nigeria risked descending into an unchecked humanitarian crisis if the government failed to act decisively.
Many Nigerians have now renewed calls for President Bola Tinubu to take firm action to protect vulnerable communities, especially as religious tension continues to rise across several northern states.
Although details of the Nasarawa attack remain unclear, the incident adds to a growing list of violent assaults on Christian clergy in recent months.
Human rights groups and advocacy organizations are urging the federal government to launch a full investigation and ensure justice for the victims and their families.
