Panic erupted on Saturday morning in the Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State when unidentified gunmen invaded a military barracks, killing a butcher identified as Ridwan.
The incident occurred around 8 a.m. in the Mammy Market section of the barracks, where four armed men stormed the market, firing gunshots into the air before targeting their victim.
The attack took place in the Mammy Market section of the military barracks, with witnesses describing the scene as chaotic.
Ridwan, a butcher, was shot multiple times at his stall, and efforts to save him were unsuccessful.
Speculations suggest the attack might be linked to cultist related activities, but the police spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, stated she was unaware of the incident and assured that the police are working to stamp out cultism and related crimes.
This incident follows a similar attack in September, where gunmen killed four people, including a noodles vendor, and injured a 14-year-old boy near the same military barracks.
The police have increased patrols and are working to apprehend suspects, with the Lagos State Commissioner of Police assuring residents of their commitment to eradicating cult-related violence.
