A 54-year-old man simply identified as Benjamin has committed suicide in the Agege area of Lagos State.
This was confirmed by the spokesman of Lagos State police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin
He said the incident occurred around 8pm on Sunday, September 15.
The police image maker said that the elder brother of the diseased who reported the sad incident to the Elere Police Station, informed them that Benjamin had hanged himself in the store of their home.
“Officers from the division promptly responded to the scene, and the deceased was lowered and transported to Orile-Agege General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead
“No signs of violence were found on the body”, Hundeyin said.
Meanwhile, the body of Mr Benjamin has since been removed from Orile-Agege Hospital and transferred to Mainland Hospital in Yaba for an autopsy.
The police spokesman added that detectives are actively investigating the incident.
