Police operatives from Lagos State Command on Friday, stopped a 59-year-old man from jumping into the Lagos lagoon.
In a statement posted on the official X handle of the command, the man, simply identified as Mr Yemi revealed that he had been overwhelmed by personal challenges, prompting his attempt to end his life.
“At about 12:00 hours today, Rapid Response Squad (RRS) bike riders, while on routine patrol on the Third Mainland Bridge, intercepted a man attempting to jump into the lagoon. The man, Yemi, aged 59 and a resident of Ilasa, Lagos, stated that he was overwhelmed by life’s difficulties”, the command said in the statement.
