Head of Civil Service champions EPIC reforms during historic Katsina visit

Katsina, Nigeria – May 17, 2025: The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni, led a strategic retreat with Heads of Service from Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

During her visit to the Federal Secretariat in Katsina on Friday, she reinforced the Federal Government’s commitment to transformative reforms.

Speaking to federal civil servants, she urged them to adopt EPIC values—Efficient, Productive, Incorruptible, and Citizen-Centred—as the foundation of a modernized workforce. Furthermore, she praised civil servants as the “quiet force powering Nigeria forward,” emphasizing their pivotal role in national development.

To enhance productivity, Mrs. Walson-Jack highlighted ongoing facility inspections nationwide. These efforts aim to improve infrastructure and staff welfare while ensuring seamless service delivery. Additionally, she stressed the need for digital transformation, urging staff to utilize new tools like Service-Wise GPT and the Online Learning Academy.

Moreover, she encouraged civil servants to embrace the Civil Service Anthem and Culture Change Song as daily motivators. These initiatives, she explained, foster unity and reinforce shared values. Her delegation included Mr. Alfred Abah, Senior Special Assistant to the President, and Arc. Joy Baderin, Director of Infrastructure Management.

Arc. Baderin commended Mrs. Walson-Jack’s hands-on leadership, noting her dedication to assessing facilities firsthand.
