Key Priorities for Nigeria at WHA78
The Ministry of Health has outlined key focus areas for the assembly. First, Nigeria will advocate for sustainable healthcare financing and stronger human resources. Second, it will address non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including diabetes prevention. Third, the delegation will present position papers on polio eradication, UHC, and mental health.
Furthermore, Nigeria will emphasize cervical cancer elimination, oral health, and local medicine production. Lastly, discussions will cover skin diseases and cosmetic safety. These priorities reflect Nigeria’s commitment to its Health Sector Strategic Blueprint under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Enhancing Global Collaboration
Participation in WHA78 will strengthen Nigeria’s evidence-based policymaking and multilateral partnerships. The outcomes will guide national strategies for health security, equity, and service delivery.
