Heirs Insurance Travel Festival Champions Inclusive Travel Across Africa

(DDM) – The inaugural Heirs Insurance Travel Festival took place on Saturday, November 29, at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos, bringing together diplomats, travel enthusiasts, creatives, business owners, and young Africans to celebrate cultural diversity and advocate for more equitable travel policies.

Diaspora Digital Media DDM gathered that the festival served not only as a cultural showcase but also as a strategic platform to address systemic barriers in Africa’s travel ecosystem, including foreign policies, visa procedures, and bilateral agreements that limit mobility across the continent.

The event, themed “Promoting Cultural Diversity and an Inclusive Travel Ecosystem,” opened with a high-level panel discussion titled “Passport Power and Diplomacy.” The panel featured seasoned diplomats and media professionals, including Brazilian diplomat Ambassador Manuel Innocencio de Lacerda Santos Junior, Angola’s Ambassador to Nigeria Jose Bamóquina Zau, and Stephanie Busari, CEO of SBB Media and former CNN Senior Editor. Veteran broadcaster Jonathan Hanson moderated the discussion.
