Hertha Berlin 1 – 1 Bayern Munich
Hertha Berlin denied Bayern Munich the chance of creating a 10 point lead on the Bundesliga table Saturday afternoon, by holding the German power house 1-1.
The Berliners were almost running away with the full points until the injury time when Robert Lewandowski restored Bayern’s pride with an equaliser.
Hertha had shot into the lead in the 21st minute with a goal by Vedad Ibisevic.
Bayern’s pressure, including having 67 per cent of possession was almost going to amount to zero, until Lewandowski last minute efforts, six minutes into added time.
Arjen Robben’s shot at the goal was blocked before Lewandowski tapped in.
The Hertha berlin players protested and players pushed and shouted at each other, making the referee book Hertha’s player, Rune Almenning Jarstein.
bayern who beat Arsenal 5-1 in the Champions League mid week, now have 50 points on top the table, followed by Bundesliga debutant, RasenBallsport Leipzig, with 42 points.
The Leipzig team have a chance to trim Bayern’s lead to five points if they beat Borussia Moenchengladbach tomorrow. (NAN)
