Hezbollah, the Iranian proxy organization with its headquarters in Lebanon, has launched a huge airstrike against northern Israel. The attack seems to be the start of Iran’s counterattack against Israel, since missiles are falling on villages close to the border with Lebanon.
Witnesses describe a ceaseless volley of rockets; some estimate that in only 15 minutes, approximately 100 rockets were fired. Official confirmation of the precise figure has not yet been provided, though.
Residents of Israel’s Galilee Panhandle were plunged into fear when the unexpected onslaught set off rocket warning sirens throughout the region. There have also been reports of possible drone incursions, and other neighboring municipalities have also activated their sirens.
