House of Reps order NCC to block porn websites

The House of Representatives has issued a directive to the NCC, demanding the immediate shutdown of all pornographic websites across the Nigeria.

The House has requested that the Commission mandate all internet service providers to immediately restrict access to such content.

Leading the motion, Hon. Dalhatu Tafoki, representing Faskari/Kankara/Sabuwa Federal Constituency, argued that pornography poses significant psychological and sociological risks while contradicting Nigeria’s religious and cultural principles.

“Nigeria is a highly religious country, and all major religions condemn nudity and obscenity,” Tafoki stated. “Many nations across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East have implemented strict regulations against pornography, and Nigeria must take similar steps.”
