The House of Representatives has raised concerns about job racketeering involving the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

According to Diaspora digital media (DDM), JAMB has warned candidates registering for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) to avoid unauthorized centers.

Candidates using unauthorized registration centers risk having their registration declared invalid.

Mukarram Adamu, JAMB’s Public Relations Officer in Jigawa State, issued this warning in a statement on Tuesday in Dutse.

He emphasized that only accredited registration centers should be used to prevent fraud.

JAMB confirmed that 1,021 candidates have registered for the 2025 UTME and DE in Jigawa State.

The total number of candidates registered nationwide has reached 201,867.

Registration is currently ongoing at 12 approved computer-based test (CBT) centers in Jigawa State.

Adamu assured candidates that JAMB has implemented measures to ensure a smooth registration process.

He reiterated that the board is committed to transparency and efficiency in its operations.

JAMB warned that fraudulent activities will be prevented by restricting registration to certified CBT centers.

Candidates were urged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities during the registration process.

The board emphasized that using unauthorized centers could lead to disqualification.

Only JAMB-approved centers are designed to facilitate a seamless and fraud-free registration process.

Adamu stated that the total number of registered candidates is expected to increase as registration continues.

JAMB remains committed to ensuring that all eligible candidates can register fairly and without complications.

The board encouraged candidates to report any difficulties or suspected malpractice during the process.

JAMB assured the public that swift action would be taken against any violations.

Candidates were reminded to follow JAMB’s official registration procedures to avoid problems.

Engaging with unapproved centers could lead to unexpected consequences, including registration invalidation.

JAMB advised candidates to adhere strictly to its guidelines and report any irregularities immediately.

The board reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining a secure and credible registration system.
