How Customs Comptroller Slumped In Nigerian Airport, Died

Nigerian Customs Service on Tuesday announced the death of its comptroller in charge of the Trade Facilitation Unit, Anthony Ayalogu.

Ayalogu died on Monday shortly after he took ill at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.
The service in a statement the Public Relations Unit issued on Tuesday, signed by A.A. Maiwada, said, the deceased was on an official assignment when he suddenly lost consciousness.

He was reportedly taken to the Nigerian Airforce Hospital, Kano, where he was pronounced dead on Monday.

“He was in transit on an official assignment when he suddenly took ill upon arrival at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport and lost consciousness.

“All efforts to revive him proved unsuccessful as he was pronounced dead at 2020 hours on Monday, 17th October 2022 at 465 Nigerian Airforce Hospital Kano. He was aged 57,” the NCS statement read.

Ayalogu, who hailed from Onitsha North Local Government Area of Anambra State, joined the agency on September 24, 1991 as Cadet Assistant Superintendent.
He had a bachelor’s degree in Botany from the University of Port Harcourt.
