The General Overseer of Living Word Conquerors Global Assembly, Bishop David Abioye, has revealed how his wife, Mary Abioye, was once diagnosed with HIV during the COVID-19 pandemic but was later confirmed negative after he declared his faith in divine healing.
The cleric made the revelation during a recent sermon, where he narrated how his unshaken faith in God turned a frightening medical report into a testimony.
According to Bishop Abioye, doctors initially claimed that his wife had tested positive for HIV, but he immediately rejected the report, declaring that such sickness could not stay in his household.
According to him, his wife later received a clean bill of health—an outcome he attributed to divine intervention.
Speaking during his church sermon on the topic, “Divine Healing”, Abioye said medical diagnoses are meant to be rejected.
According to him, he had rejected the doctors’ report on his wife’s HIV status despite her testing positive for the disease.
His words: “During COVID-19 they said my wife had HIV, I said no, not in this body.
“By the time they checked her….. Because I got scriptural revelations ‘the prince of this world came to check me and they have found nothing’ so I said ‘go and do the check up.’
“They checked her up and they couldn’t find anything there. Healing is not for gentlemen, you don’t nurse sickness to go, you fight sickness to go,” Abioye said.
