How over 70 Boko Haram terrorists drown in river, after airstrikes

More than 70 terrorists believed to be Boko Haram members have been drowned in a river in Gaftari following aircraft bombardment by Nigerian military in the Lake Chad region.

According to YERWA EXPRESS NEWS,Nigerian Army with the support of the Civilian Joint Task Force killed over 20 members of Boko Haram terrorists in Gaftari and Sheruri, all villages under Bama and Konduga Local Government area of Borno.

A new update reaching this paper Saturday morning said over 70 of the terrorists who escaped from the military aircraft bombardment have been drowned in the river.

A source who spoke to our correspondent on a condition of anonymity because of how sensitive the report is, said, following the incident the terrorists were seen removing over 40 dead bodies in the river.

According to him, 20 of the terrorists are still missing.

‘This morning around 9:00 am, they buried 40 of their fighters at Gaftari village as search and rescue of the remaining 20 continued,’ the source said.

Gaftari and Sheruri are villages located along Bama and Konduga Local governments, some 68 kilometres from Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital.
