Media aide to the governor of Imo State, comrade Onwuasoanya FCC Jones, has accused Sahara Reporters, media outlet owned by controversial rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, of providing some of the evidence used in convicting Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB).
He made the accusation in a post on his official Facebook page on Friday.
Jones, who described Sowore as an unpretentious sadist and Igbo hater, said the Yoruba born politician has been all over the social media since Thursday, trying to incite Igbos with fabrications, following the conviction of Nnamdi Kanu.
He stated that Sowore is trying to lure Igbo youths to protest over a concluded legal matter.
Comrade Jones said: “Omoyele Sowore turned in most of the evidence, through his Sahara Reporters, with which Nnamdi Kanu was prosecuted and correctly sentenced.
“The same Sowore organised, allegedly after receiving huge amounts from IPOB, a botched rally, deceitfully tagged “FreeNnamdiKanu”. Beside the money he allegedly received for that poor road show, Sowore wished that the protest would draw out a huge number of Igbos into the streets to endanger their lives and businesses.
“Sowore, an unpretentious sadist and Igbo hater, has been all over the social media since yesterday, trying to incite Igbos with fabrications, trying to lure them to protest over a concluded legal matter.
“While a very loud minority of Igbos are gullible and might take Sowore seriously, I can assure you that an overwhelming majority of our people are wise, and would take Sowore’s pretentious interest in Igbo affairs, with a pinch of salt.”
Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Thursday, sentenced Nnamdi Kanu, to life imprisonment following his conviction on all seven counts of terrorism charges preferred against him by the Federal Government.
