How Women Affairs Minister, Alhassan Goofed Over Chibok Girls
Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Aisha Alhassan made some statement during an interactive over the released Chibok girls which observers can best describe as a “goof”.
Mrs Alhassan said: “I thank the teachers and vocational trainers for training them.
“The 24 girls who could not speak good English, can now speak good English and I am sure by the time they handle the new ones (82), they will also speak good English and will be able to pass JAMB, WASSCE and NECO when they go back to school.”
A commentator, who spoke to Elombah.com on the basis of anonymity remarked:
“Are these not the same Chibok Girls that were to write WAEC Physics Examination before they “abducted”?
“Are they now being taught how to speak English so as to be able to pass JAMB, WASSCE and NECO Exams?
“What language were they going to write the WAEC Physics Exam in the first place?
“No wonder many Nigerian believe that this Chibok girls’ saga is a scam!”
Recall that 21 Chibok girls were recently freed from Boko Haram enclave, and later another 82 were also released same day President Muhammadu Buhari left Nigeria for medical tourism in the United Kingdom.
