Hundeyin reveals APC plot to compromise Tribunal judges

Investigative journalist, Mr. David Hundeyi, has revealed a grand plot by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) to compromise the judges sitting in the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC), herein referred to as the Tribunal.

According to Mr. Hundeyi, four APC stalwarts have been assigned with the task of compromising the Tribunal.

The assignees include Ibrahim Masari, the Senior Special Assistant on Political Affairs to Tinubu, former Transportation Minister Babatunde Raji Fashola, the Director General of the Department of State Security (DSS), Mr. Yusuf Bichi, and Mr. Nyesom Wike, a ministerial nominee and immediate past governor of Rivers State.

Hundeyi said: “The four aforementioned are revealed to meet with Appeal Court/Tribunal judges over PEPT judgement on yet to be fixed date together with two unnamed former Governors from the North.

“Similarly, effort to engage traditional and religious leaders are brought into consideration, the target is to caution the masses not to rebel against the judgement in case the judges affirmed APC President.

“Plans are equally ongoing to ensure PDP and LP crisis deepens to sustain the disunity in the parties in case a rerun election was ordered by the tribunal.”

Hundeyi also informed that Mr. Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Governor, is ‘championing the course of destabilising the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) now and beyond 2027’.

“He was assured of logistic support through Lagos state Governor,” Hundeyi added.

It could be recalled that last week, Hundeyi, citing a reliable source, also reported that the President held a meeting with Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, the DG DSS, and the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission [ICPC], Mr. Bolaji Owasanoye.

According to him, they were instructed to go after the Tribunal Judges and including the lawyers of PDP and LP presidential candidates, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, respectively.

The Tribunal, meanwhile, is expected to announce a date, any time from now, for the judgment in the suits brought by Peter Obi/LP and Atiku Abubakar/PDP challenging Tinubu’s victory at the presidential election held on February 25, 2023, which saw the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, declare Tinubu as the winner. Read more.
