A former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode has debunked the story making rounds about his position on Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku Abubakar is a former Vice President and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the presidential election coming up next week.
According to the story, Mr. Fani-Kayode was quoted as doubting the ability of Alhaji Abubakar to defeat the incumbent, President Muhammadu Buhari.
However, in a short memo made available to ElombahNews, Fani-Kayode described the story as fake.
He said: “There is a fake write-up that was posted on the internet which says that I do not believe that Atiku can beat Buhari and that he cannot win in the NW, NE and SW.
“It says that I referred to Atiku as a Chamba man and not a real Fulani.
“This is fake news.”
He attributed the story to machinations of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), saying:
“APC e-rats at work again!”
