I will orchestrate economic thunderbolt in Anambra State —Senator Ubah

The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District in the Senate Chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah has predicted that he will orchestrate economic thunderbolt if he eventually becomes governor of the Anambra State in the future.

Speaking to journalists shortly after he was welcomed into the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Awka, the Anambra State capital, the Nnewi born Senator made it clear that his ambition to be governor remains much alive and with the level of experience he has garnered in politics over the years he is going to make it to the government house as governor whenever the next governorship election holds.

He said: “I have ran the race for governor in few occasions and I can assure you that I have acquired more experience now having learnt from the mistakes I made in the past, so I am very optimistic that I will coast home to victory to emerge as governor of Anambra State whenever the next governorship election in Anambra is held and when I move into office, Anambra will witness a thunderous economic revolution”

The business mogul turned politician said he joined APC with the intention to move Anambra State to the center of governance in Nigeria, noting that the time for Anambra to join the league of States under the national ruling party in charge of governance at the centre is long overdue, having been languishing under the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) for nearly 20 years.

He added: ‘I am quite sure that you will agree with me that it is worth it for a big State like Anambra to log into the centre of governance to enable us as Ndi Anambra be in a better position to unleash our potentials to the fullest best to the national bargain.

“So, I am here in APC well prepared and well-equipped to take Anambra where we suppose to belong.”

Earlier on, the State Chairman of APC, Chief Basil Ejidike, said Senator Uba and Ekwunife’s decision to join the ruling party is a wise one as, according to him, APC as a well-spread national ruling party offers wider scope of things much more than smaller groups parading themselves as political parties like Young People’s Party and All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) among others.

Chief Ejidike declared that the time for Anambra to identify the wider scope of national politics through APC is now, arguing that APGA lacked the capacity to run Anambra State because the party doesn’t measure up to the level of a big political party needed to run a very big State like Anambra highly endowed with great people considering the fact that the APGA not only lacked spread but also being controlled by few people in Anambra State.

The Anambra APC boss, who is a former Chairman of Onitsha South Local Government Area, also argued APGA has never mustered the strength needed to run the affairs of Anambra State because, according to him, it is not possible for a small political party under the control of few people to run the affairs of a big State like Anambra.

“How could a party under the control of three or four persons run a big State like Anambra, they can’t,” he added.

The former Onitsha South boss went further to argue that APC in the last 8 years has done much more strategic development projects in Anambra than APGA which is controlling the State for nearly 20 years, noting that the projects done by APC like 2nd Niger Bridge and reconstruction of Enugu – Onitsha Expressway are making positive impact on the economy of Anambra State than what APGA government is doing.

Buttressing his point, the Chairman added: “What we are saying to the good people of Anambra State is that by the next election in 2025, APGA would have ruled Anambra State for 20 years uninterrupted and that is enough because they have nothing much to show on ground for being in power for good 20 years.”
