Ibom Air scandal: Comfort speaks out after viral humiliation video

(DDM) – A week after the dramatic scene aboard an Ibom Air flight in Lagos, passenger Comfort Emmanson has publicly broken her silence.

The incident, which sparked national outrage, showed Comfort being dragged off an aircraft in a viral video that exposed her body.

DDM recalls that the confrontation escalated into a legal battle, with Comfort charged to court and remanded in Kirikiri prison.

She was only released two days later following the intervention of Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo, who ordered her freedom.

In a new video released on Sunday, Comfort narrated her side of the story, detailing how the ordeal began and escalated.

According to her, what started as a minor disagreement with the air hostess spiraled into an incident that left her traumatized.

She claimed the airline staff stopped her from disembarking, humiliated her in front of passengers, and called her a prostitute.

Comfort lamented that beyond the physical exposure, her reputation and career have now suffered devastating damage.

She explained that she is a real estate professional, but now fears her image is permanently tarnished.

“My body is everywhere now, being used as stickers online,” she said with visible pain.

DDM observed that her ordeal has become one of the most controversial aviation-related scandals in recent memory.

Human rights groups have since condemned the treatment she faced, calling it a violation of her dignity and privacy.

Legal experts argue that Ibom Air may face lawsuits for alleged assault, defamation, and mishandling of the situation.

Nigerians on social media remain divided, with some blaming the airline while others question Comfort’s own actions.

However, her emotional testimony has reignited sympathy from those who insist she was unfairly treated.

Observers note that the airline’s silence since the incident has further fueled public anger and suspicion.

Aviation analysts warn that the controversy may impact Ibom Air’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s fastest-rising carriers.

DDM gathered that Comfort is now considering legal steps to restore her name and seek justice for the humiliation suffered.

The scandal has once again raised concerns about how airlines handle passenger disputes in Nigeria.

Critics say without accountability, incidents like this risk undermining public trust in the aviation sector.

For Comfort, the battle is no longer about the flight but about reclaiming her dignity and future.
