Igbo-Etiti Youth Forum Holds Election, Elects New Executive Officers

OHEBE-DIM, ENUGU STATE – The Igbo-Etiti Youth Forum (IEYF) has conducted its executive election, producing new leadership to steer the affairs of the organisation following a peaceful poll held on May 31, 2026.

The election, which took place at Community Secondary School, Ohebe-Dim, was described as orderly and conducted in line with the provisions of the forum’s constitution.

The Igbo-Etiti Youth Forum, said the electoral process strictly adhered to Article 12, Sub-section 2, Provision 4 of its constitution, with zoning arrangements and rotational principles duly observed.

Election Outcome

At the conclusion of the exercise, the following officials were elected to lead the forum:

Mr. Aroh Samuel emerged as President, while Ms. Nwangwu Sharon was elected Vice President.

Others include Mr. Eruka Nick Jnr as Secretary General, Ms. Ugwuele Onyinye as Director of Welfare, Mr. Amuh Reuben Ugo as Public Relations Officer 1, and Mr. Ezugwu Nnaemeka as Director of Social.

The Electoral Board Chairman, Amah C. Amah, who announced the results, congratulated the newly elected executives and urged them to uphold unity, transparency, and developmental leadership within the forum.

Peaceful Conduct And Compliance

Officials of the electoral committee noted that the election process was peaceful, transparent, and inclusive, with members participating freely in accordance with the forum’s guidelines.

They also emphasized that the zoning formula, which ensures equitable representation across different sections of the community, was fully respected during the exercise.

According to the electoral board, adherence to constitutional provisions helped ensure credibility and acceptance of the results among members.

Calls For Unity And Development

Community stakeholders present at the event encouraged the newly elected executives to prioritise youth empowerment, community development, and peaceful engagement within Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area.

They noted that youth organisations play a vital role in promoting unity, cultural values, and local development initiatives across communities.

The outgoing leadership was also commended for maintaining stability and ensuring a smooth transition process.

Looking Ahead

The newly elected officials are expected to assume office immediately and begin consultations aimed at strengthening the forum’s activities and impact within the community.
