IGP orders investigation into alleged assault on woman Inspector

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has directed the Commissioner of Police, Osun State, CP Olaleye Faleye, to investigate the alleged sexual assault on woman Inspector Olorunsogo Bamidele by her superior, DCO Matthew Ajayi.

This was contained in a press release issued by the Nigeria Police Force PRO, Muyiwa Adejobi, in Abuja on Wednesday, November 2.

News Band has reported that the Inspector Bamidele accused DCO Ajayi of sexual assault and blackmail.

The incident took place at the Ode Omu Division Headquarters in Osun State.

Reacting to the allegation, IGP Alkali Baba directed Police Commissioner Faleye to investigate the alleged sexual assault and take appropriate measures.

“We will await the report of the investigation from Osun State Police Command before necessary actions are taken.

“However, we assure the general public that justice will be done in the case, to protect the core values and ethics of the NPF,” Force PRO, Adejobi added. Read more.
