Iheanacho says ‘I’m okay’; as Man City signs Claudio Bravo

Kelechi Iheanacho has allayed the fears of Manchester City fans after he was hauled off during Manchester City versus Steaua Bucuresti match.

Iheanacho confirmed that he is not injured, rather that he suffered a temporary hamstring injury.

The Nigerian ace striker was to be replaced by Fernandinho after he was stretchered off.

Manchester City eventually lost the match 1-0 to Steaua Bucuresti in Wednesday’s Champions League second leg play-off.

Debunking insinuations that he would be on the sidelines for weeks, Iheanacho has insisted that he is fit to play again.

“Great result for the team today. Very pleased we’ve qualified for the Champions’ League group stages. 

“Thank you everyone for your messages. I’m pleased to inform you all that I’m okay,” he wrote on Instagram.

With this, he could be considered for selection when Pep Guardiola’s men welcome West Ham United in Sunday’s English Premier League fixture.

Also, the news comes as a relief for Nigeria national team handlers.

The talented player is expected to feature in next month’s inconsequential Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania.

CLAUDIO BRAVO SIGNS FOR CITY

In another Man City news, City are delighted to announce the signing of Claudio Bravo.

The Chilean goalkeeper joins the Blues from Barcelona after signing a four-year-deal.

Bravo brings with him a wealth of experience including back-to-back La Liga titles with Barca.

He also had successive Copa America triumphs with Chile with whom the 33 year-old has won 106 caps and also the captain.

He won his 100th international cap in the Copa America Centenario as Chile beat Argentina in the final on penalties and is the first Chilean to win a century of caps.

Born in Viluco, Chile, Bravo started his career with Colo-Colo, making 123 appearances between 2002 and 2006.

He later joined Real Sociedad on the recommendation of Xabier Mancisidor who is now City’s goalkeeping coach.

Bravo remained for with The Royals for eight years, clocking up 237 starts – plus one goal against Gimnastic in 2010.
