Nigerian music executive Ubi Franklin has responded to backlash following his visit to President Bola Tinubu.

He made the visit alongside singer Davido and socialite Cubana Chief Priest Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports.

The meeting sparked controversy online, with many questioning the motives behind the visit.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Franklin defended the move.

He stated he would gladly accept the opportunity again if it came.

“Meeting the President is no different from meeting a local government chairman,” he said confidently.

He argued that critics would jump at the chance themselves if given it.

According to him, the backlash is misplaced and hypocritical.

“If you had the chance, you would go, let alone meet the President,” Franklin wrote.

He insisted he remains proud of the meeting and unshaken by the criticism.

Franklin addressed his critics directly and without apology.

“If you want to keep abusing me, go ahead,” he posted.

He noted that he has long been misunderstood and misrepresented.

“I’ve been abused, lied about, and misunderstood for too long,” he said.

Despite that, Franklin declared he is “still unbothered” by public opinion.

The entertainment figure reaffirmed his political allegiance during the statement.

“I’ve never hidden the fact that I’m a proud, full member of the APC,” he stated.

He accused many critics of double standards and political bias.

“People criticize you for things they’d do themselves if they were in your shoes,” he added.

He concluded the post with a photo collage from the meeting.

He called it “the most powerful collage of all time” in his caption.

The viral visit has reignited the debate on celebrity involvement in politics.

Some fans praised the trio for engaging with national leadership.

Others condemned the act as opportunistic or self-serving.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that the incident has divided public opinion sharply.

It reflects the ongoing tension between celebrity culture and political engagement in Nigeria.

Franklin’s unapologetic stance marks a bold declaration of political loyalty.

It may inspire similar figures to speak out without fear.

Despite online criticism, Franklin remains defiant and determined in his views.

He emphasized that nothing would stop him from repeating the meeting.

“If I get another opportunity, I’ll do it again and again,” he affirmed.

This episode highlights the pressures celebrities face in politically sensitive times.

It also underscores how every action by public figures is closely watched.

For now, Ubi Franklin remains unshaken and boldly himself.
