Imo Govt Destroys Nekede Hideout, Nabs Organ Harvesters
DDM News

The Imo State Government has carried out the demolition of a suspected criminal hideout located at Nekede Number One, in a major crackdown on organized crime in the state.
Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that the building, long believed to be a hub for criminal operations, including armed robbery, drug trafficking, and suspected organ harvesting, was brought down on Tuesday under tight security.
The demolition was supervised by operatives of the Governor’s Monitoring and Compliance Unit alongside state security personnel and task force agents.
Sources within the unit revealed that the site had been under surveillance following multiple intelligence reports linking it to gruesome crimes, including ritualistic killings involving human organs.
“This was more than a hideout. It was a threat to public safety and humanity,” one of the officials involved in the operation said.
He added that the state government remains resolute in its mission to eliminate all criminal enclaves, declaring that “no part of Imo State will be allowed to serve as a haven for evil.”
Residents in the area, who had reportedly lived in fear for months, expressed relief at the government’s decisive action.
A local observer during the demolition described the mood as one of liberation.
“I can finally sleep with my two eyes closed,” said one resident, speaking anonymously.
“We’ve suspected something sinister for a long time. We thank the government for stepping in.”
Several suspects were arrested during the raid and are now in custody as investigations continue.
Authorities have promised that the operation is only the beginning of broader efforts to restore law and order across Imo.
The state government has recently intensified similar crackdowns across other communities, demolishing illegal structures linked to crime and apprehending those responsible.
The latest operation reinforces the government’s zero-tolerance stance on insecurity and affirms its commitment to protecting the lives and dignity of its citizens.
