Imo PDP celebrates their state leader and National Secretary, Distinguished Senator Samuel Anyanwu (Samdaddy) at the age of 60 years.

The party described his leadership as visionary and selfless service to humanity.

Lancelot Obiaku, the PDP state publicity secretary stated this in a Press statement on June 18th 2025.

He states: “The Imo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) salutes the party’s National Secretary and State leader, Dist. Sen. Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu (Samdaddy) as Nigerians roll out the drums to commemorate his 60th Birthday anniversary, today.

Unequivocally, Sen. Anyanwu is an accomplished legislator and administrator, whose trailblazing performances raised the standard at the National Assembly and the Imo State House of Assembly while he was a member of both legislative houses.

This exemplifies his role in deepening democracy and supporting development in Imo State and Nigeria which will continue to be a reference point for many years to come.

His strength lies in his courage, resilience, hard work, integrity and alluring humility and kindness.

Sen. Anyanwu has stopped at nothing in bringing his rich experience, leadership dexterity and ingenuity to bear in preparing new and younger leaders who will continue to advance democracy both in the State and the Country at large.

As the Senator representing Imo East between 2015 and 2019, he was influential and brought honour to his home State, Imo.

He was the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, a position he used to defend democracy, and through which he was instrumental in bringing sanity to the 8th Senate.

Being a visionary, transparent, compassionate and people-oriented leader, he used his time as Senator to positively impact the lives of his constituents, having secured job opportunities for thousands, given out scholarships, and delivered infrastructural projects.

As Chairman of his beloved Ikeduru local government area earlier in his blistering leadership career, he was dubbed “Action Chairman,” a sobriquet that signposts his stellar performances that resonated with people, including the fact that his administration provided road infrastructure.

The PDP at the national level has had a taste of Sen. Anyanwu’s unimpeachable administrative and leadership acumen which has been crucial in steadying the party’s sheep against all odds.

These years of commitment to excellence in democratic leadership earned him a continental recognition, when he was in November last year elected Vice Chairman of the Democrat Union of Africa to help deepen democracy in Imo State, Nigeria, West Africa, and Africa at large.

As a party, we firmly acknowledge that under Sen. Anyanwu’s tutelage and guidance as the leader of PDP in Imo State, the party in the Eastern Heartland has been repositioned to the admiration of many.

Today, Imo PDP enjoys peace and unity of purpose more than ever. Importantly, the party has been returned to the people due to Sen. Anyanwu’s insistence on internal democracy which supports equal rights and fairness to all.

Imo PDP immensely appreciates the selflessness, unrivaled sense of compassion, and the sacrifices made by the party’s charismatic national scribe and leader in advancing peace, stability and growth in our party.

The occasion of his 60th Birthday remains an opportune time to pray to God to grant him more wisdom and many more years in good health so that he can continue to impart humanity positively.

The party wishes him a greater platform to bring his yet unaccomplished plans and vision for Imo State to fruition soon!

Happy Birthday, our great leader.
