(DDM) – The Imo State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old man for the alleged defilement of a 15-year-old girl, authorities confirmed.

DDM gathered that the arrest followed a complaint lodged by the victim’s family, prompting immediate police action.

The suspect is currently in police custody and is expected to face charges relating to sexual assault and child defilement under Nigerian law.

In a related development, the command also detained several police officers for alleged professional misconduct linked to the handling of the case.
