The Tribunal Appeal Court sitting in Owerri, Imo State capital, has upheld the election of Senator Enyinaya Abaribe.
Senator Abaribe was the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] candidate in the April 11 National Assembly election.
He represents Abia-South Senatorial District of Abia State in the Senate. The Court ruled that there should be no more rerun as previously ruled by the tribunal.
In another development, the Rivers State Tribunal Court Of Appeal in Abuja has sacked all PDP Senators from the state.
The Court of Appeal has ordered a rerun of Rivers East Senatorial election.
It was the unanimous judgement delivered by a panel of three justices.
The case was filed by Senator Magnus Abe of APC against against PDP’s Senator Olaka Wogu who was declared the winner of the election into the Senatorial district by INEC.
The court has also nullified the election of Senator Osinaka Ideuzo of PDP. In the unanimous judgement delivered by Justice Abdullahi, the court ordered a rerun of the election in 90 days.
Yesterday, the same court nullified the election of Senator George Sekibo, meaning that the PDP senators have been sacked in the state.
Also swept off were twelve PDP members of House of Representatives from Rivers State leaving only one behind.
In other related developments, Mandela Obasi (PDP) was declared dully elected at Ohafia north.
Chief Cosmos Ndukwe (PDP) was also reconfirmed in another challenge.
PDP’s Jerry Uzosike has sacked the usurper APGA legislator for Umuahia too; all from the appeal court which is the final court for legislative elections.
Also, the All progressives grand Alliance [APGA] legislator for Arochukwu has been sacked and a rerun to be held.
Arochukwu is the home of Alex Otti, the Abia State gubernatorial election candidate for APGA.
In an earlier Elombah.com report, the Court of Appeal in Owerri dismissed the petition filed by Osita Izunaso of the All Progressives Congress (APC), challenging the election of Senator Hope Uzodimma as the Senator representing Imo West in the April 11, 2015 National Assembly election and affirmed election of Uzodmima.
Also in another earlier report, the Court of Appeal sitting in Owerri, the Imo State capital, upheld the election of Senator Theodore Afamefula Orji, as the validly elected senator representing Abia Central.
