Senior special assistant to President Bola Tinubu on digital and new media, Mr. O’tega Ogra, has refuted social media reports on sacking of Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), professor Mahmoud Yakubu.
The reports, which went viral on social media on Monday, alleged that Mr Yakubu has been removed from office and replaced with Professor Bashiru Olamilekan.
But the presidential aide, in a statement on his official X handle, urged Nigerians to disregard the report.
“Disregard any fake news making the rounds about the replacement of the INEC Chairman,” Mr Ogra wrote.
