DDM News

In a major development ahead of the 2025 Anambra State governorship election, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially presented the Certificate of Return to Mr. John Chuma Nwosu, confirming him as the party’s duly nominated candidate for the highly anticipated race.
The presentation ceremony was held on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the ADC National Headquarters located at No. 2 Oyo Street, Area 2, Garki, Abuja.
The event commenced promptly at 12 noon Nigerian time and was attended by top ADC national executives, stakeholders, party members, civil society allies, and members of the media.
Mr. Nwosu had earlier emerged victorious in the ADC’s primary election, which was widely adjudged free, fair, and transparent.
His candidacy is seen as a strategic move by the ADC to present a credible and people-focused alternative in the forthcoming election.
The ceremony was streamed live on the Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) YouTube channel, ensuring access to audiences across the globe, particularly members of the Nigerian diaspora who remain actively engaged in national development.
The event was also accessible via Zoom, offering real-time participation for virtual attendees through a dedicated link and meeting ID.
In his remarks, Mr. Nwosu expressed deep gratitude to the ADC leadership for the confidence reposed in him.
He pledged to offer a new vision for Anambra State that prioritizes quality education, youth empowerment, accessible healthcare, innovation, and rural development.
He described his emergence not as a personal victory but as a shared mandate to transform Anambra into a model of good governance.
The party’s national leaders commended Mr. Nwosu’s track record, describing him as a bridge between experience and innovation.
They also reiterated the ADC’s commitment to internal democracy, transparency, and citizen-driven politics.
The African Democratic Congress has steadily grown in influence, positioning itself as a viable third force in Nigeria’s political space.
With the presentation of the Certificate of Return, the party has signaled readiness to mount a strong challenge against the traditional political establishments in Anambra.
As the 2025 governorship election approaches, many political observers believe the entry of Mr. John Chuma Nwosu into the race will redefine campaign narratives and raise the stakes.
His candidacy represents a generational shift and a rallying point for voters seeking fresh leadership anchored on accountability, competence, and grassroots inclusion.
The coming months are expected to witness heightened political activity as Mr. Nwosu hits the ground running with consultations, mobilization, and voter engagement across all 21 local government areas of Anambra State.
