Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) urgently met with top security officials Wednesday, demanding action as killings spiral out of control. The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) hosted the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and Defence Minister Mohammed Abubakar behind closed doors in Abuja. Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State led the high-stakes talks, with 16 state Governors present, including those from Lagos, Plateau, and Imo.

Although officials kept the agenda secret, insiders confirmed the talks focused on halting the nation’s worsening violence.

The meeting came hours after President Bola Tinubu rushed to Benue State, where herdsmen slaughtered over 200 villagers in Yelewata.

Visibly shaken, Tinubu ordered police and military chiefs to hunt down the killers immediately.

“Why are these murderers still free?” he demanded, directing spies to flood crisis zones with intel.

Meanwhile, NGF pressed the NSA and defence chief for real solutions, not just promises. Sources revealed the officials briefed Governors on covert operations to crush armed gangs. With kidnappings and massacres spreading daily, governors insisted on faster military deployments and smarter policing.

Traditional rulers and ex-leaders joined Tinubu in Makurdi, begging for action before more lives vanish.

As night fell, the NGF meeting stretched on, with governors debating emergency measures. Citizens now wait, terrified, to see if their leaders can finally end the bloodshed. One thing is clear: Nigeria’s survival hinges on this fight. The clock is ticking—failure means more graves.
