The Indigenous People of Biafra [IPOB] has declared that the leader of the pro-Biafra group, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is missing following the invasion of his residence by the Nigerian military personnels.

The group alleged that he is being held incommunicado in Kaduna or Kano prison.

IPOB stated this in official press statement issued by its media and publicity secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful.

The statement reads:

We the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) and its leadership worldwide under the command and leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu wish to bring to the notice of the whole world that the whereabouts of our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and parents are still unknown to mankind since the attack in his compound last week.

IPOB have been searching for our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and parents nowhere to be found since last week.

We are challenging the Nigerian army and police to produce our leader Mazi Nnamdi since it is a prerogative right for him to make statement and inform his confidants and teeming members all over the world about his condition.

For the army systematic withdrawal and deployment of police and the posting of police to every strategic places around his compound and the entire community proves that the Nigerian government knows the whereabouts of our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu whether he is alive or dead because the army have done the job they were sent to do by picking Nnamdi Kanu.

[We call on] men and women of good conscience across the globe to prevail on Nigerian government and her security operatives, especially the Nigerian army, with the South East governors, to produce our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu before it is too late.

[This is] because we have gone so deep in search for our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu [but] nowhere to be found.

Since last week attack and onslaught against Kanu’s compound at Isiama Afaraukwu, Ibeku, Umuahia, Abia State, no eye have ever seen Mazi Nnamdi Kanu the IPOB leader.

We also ask the world to tell Nigerian government if they arrested our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and parents or killed they should tell the world and Biafrans.

It is high time the whole world ask questions about Nnamdi Kanu’ whereabouts because Kanu’s family were inside the compound during the attack.

We also observed that during the  heavy high handedness on Nnamdi Kanu’ family, about 22 IPOB members were killed and their dead bodies were taking away by Nigerian army and police officers who were drafted for the attack.

We cannot ascertain where IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and parents are since then.

We are worried how Nigerian army and police officers drafted to carry out this heinous crime would pick up our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and parents during the onslaught without making it open and they are still keeping quiet and mute over the whereabouts of our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and parents up till this time.

We were made to understand on the newspaper publications that the order before coming for the attack was to get Nnamdi Kanu alive or dead.

We ask, if they have assassinated him with his parents they must let the whole world know about it and stop keeping quiet over the life of IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

It is worrisome for the Nigerian army and police to unleash attack on our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who has been on bail without getting permission from the federal high court that has been handling the case in Abuja.

The court granted Mazi Nnamdi Kanu bail on 25th April, 2017; since then Nnamdi Kanu has never traveled out of Nigeria or hidden for any reason, rather he was busy organising his people for upcoming referendum and court case in Abuja on 17th October, 2017, which must hold for Biafra freedom no matter what the Nigerian government and her security operatives and few politicians do to intimidate our people.

We all are aware that our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is a fearless human being and determined to restore Biafra and he has already promised the Nigerian government during the peaceful rallies at Ekwulobia and Aba that he will be in court on 17th October 2017 with over two million members of IPOB and Biafrans on that day for the hearing of the case between IPOB and Nigerian government.

As it is today, we observed that the Hausa Fulani dominated security operatives have living up to their threats by taking our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu down to Kaduna or Kano Prison where nobody can hear or know anything from him, if he still alive.
