The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has condemned the plan by South East Governors to form another security outfit in the South East to patrol the highway, saying the plan is unacceptable because “the murderous Ebubeagu they created have killed and destroyed many of our people’s lives and properties”.
Comrade Emma Powerful, Media and Publicity Secretary for IPOB, said the notion is pathetic as South East Governors cannot publicly demand for the unconditional release of their brother, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu after Appeal Court’s verdict to acquit and discharge him.
According to Emma Powerful, they are hypocritically calling for a political solution without the political will to accomplish it.
On the role of the militant arm of IPOB, he said:
“We have Eastern Security Network (ESN) working day and night to secure our Region. These gallant men and women are paying ultimate price to keep our land safe from State sponsored terrorists.
“If it is not for ESN, by now, state sponsored Fulani militias would have overran Biafra Land. Therefore, we don’t want another security outfit within our territory.
“Forming another security outfit means that the Governors have exhausted their powers with Ebubeagu and are again looking for another means of causing confusion in Biafraland.
“If these governors and politicians insist on forming a rebranded Ebubeagu, that means that they are benefiting from insecurity in the Eastern Region like their counterpart, Hope Uzodinma and they want Hope Uzodinma to catch into the ideas and cause more insecurity in the region.”
Emma Powerful warned that forming another security outfit in the region will cause confusion and anarchy, and increase criminality.
“IPOB will work against any other security outfit the Governors will create because their Ebubeagu security outfit brought destruction and criminality into our land.
“We won’t allow rebranding of the same murderous Ebubeagu security outfit or the disguising of criminal elements ever,” he threatened.
He urged South East Governors to demand for unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu and not waste their energy and resources creating another security outfit.
He warned youths that anyone who joins the rebranded Ebubeagu is signing his death warrant and asked the Governors to read the hand writing on the wall.
“What we need at this critical time in this unholy union of death called Nigeria is our people’s support and funding for ESN not another counter security outfit,” he concluded. Read more.
