The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has expressed its desire and support for the American business mogul and presidential candidate of the Republican Party- Donald Trump, to win the presidency of the United States of America in the country’s forthcoming elections.
The pro-Biafran group saw Trump as “a great personality” in the likes of Vladimir Putin of Russia, Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, and Angela Merkel of Germany.
They, therefore, noted that Americans and the world at large were desirous to see him as the next president of the United States of America (USA).
This was contained in a statement released to journalists in Awka Tuesday, by IPOB’s spokesman, Mr Emma Powerful.
Mr. Powerful showed optimism that a Trump presidency in America would help advance the Biafra cause.
It therefore urged other world leaders to intervene in the Biafra issue.
In their clarion call, IPOB said:
“We are calling on the international community, the well-meaning world leaders like Vladimir Putin of Russia, Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, Angela Merkel of Germany, the French president, the American presidential candidate Donald Trump whom the good people of America and the world at large want to come and make America great again and others who recognized the freedom for all mankind to come to our rescue”.
The statement decried the Department of State Security (DSS) declaration of Mrs Uchechi Okwu Kanu, the wife of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu and comrade Emma Powerful, the media and publicity secretary of IPOB as wanted persons.
According to the IPOB, “It is unfortunate on the side of the DSS because the list of the wanted IPOB members proves that they have lost their intelligence ability.
“The DSS should have known that the indigenous people of Biafra worldwide are a nonviolent organization that has taken perceive resistance towards the liberation of our people Biafra and has not been involved in any violent act or crime throughout the period of protests in Nigeria and across the globe.
“The Federal Government and the security agencies should have known that on the 12th September 2016 the people of Catalonia came out in millions in the streets of Catalans and Spain, protesting, chanting and flying their flag for their own separate country and no security agents arrest or kill any unarmed civilians during the peaceful protests in Spain”
“This is how civilized society behaves not so barbaric and wicked.”
