Iran has unleashed a massive drone assault against Israel, marking a sharp escalation in ongoing hostilities between the two adversaries.

According to Diaspora Digital Media (DDM), the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that over 100 drones were deployed by Iran in what is being termed an unprecedented retaliation strike.

Israeli military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari described the situation as extraordinary and dangerous.

He stated that all aerial defense systems across Israel have been activated to intercept the oncoming threats.

Hagari warned Israelis to brace for a difficult period, emphasizing the scale of the attack as unprecedented.

This retaliatory move by Iran comes shortly after a series of targeted Israeli airstrikes on strategic Iranian locations.

Those Israeli operations were reportedly focused and intelligence-driven, launched under the codename “Operation Rising Lion.”

Israel characterized the mission as a preemptive and precision-based campaign, aimed at neutralizing threats from Iranian soil.

The targeted strikes resulted in several casualties, including a top Iranian military figure, Major General Mohammad Bagheri.

Bagheri served as Iran’s Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and his death is believed to have intensified Tehran’s resolve for retaliation.

His elimination is being seen in some quarters as a major provocation that could spiral into a broader regional conflict.

In the wake of the strikes and counterattacks, Israel has declared a nationwide state of emergency.

Authorities have issued urgent directives for civilians to remain in shelters and strictly follow security protocols.

Air-raid sirens have been reported in multiple parts of the country, and air defense units have been mobilized at full capacity.

Reports indicate that Israel’s Iron Dome and other anti-missile systems are actively engaged in intercepting the incoming drones.

Defense analysts say this is one of the largest drone offensives launched by a nation-state in recent history.

Iran has so far not issued a detailed official statement beyond confirming that the operation is a response to Israeli aggression.

The strike has triggered heightened military alertness in several neighboring countries, including Jordan and Lebanon.

International observers fear that the situation could escalate into a full-blown war involving multiple Middle Eastern nations.

There are concerns that proxy groups allied with Iran, such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and militias in Iraq, could also join the fray.

Israel’s allies, including the United States and several European countries, have condemned the Iranian offensive.

However, many nations are also urging restraint on both sides to prevent further regional destabilization.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has appealed for an immediate cessation of hostilities and a return to diplomacy.

Middle East experts suggest that the situation may worsen if diplomatic efforts fail to de-escalate the growing tensions.

Military movements have reportedly increased near Israel’s northern borders, indicating the possibility of further clashes.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has convened his security cabinet to assess the unfolding crisis.

He reiterated that Israel will act decisively to defend its people and territorial integrity against all forms of aggression.

Tehran, on its part, has warned that any further Israeli attacks would be met with even harsher responses.

The situation remains fluid, and both military and civilian sectors across the region are bracing for what could become a prolonged confrontation.
