Iran warns of retaliation if infrastructure comes under attack

Iran has warned that it will respond forcefully to any attack on its infrastructure, with a senior security official saying Israel would face the consequences of any such action.

Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said the country had already made its position clear following recent military exchanges involving the United States and Israel.

“As we have already announced, any attack on infrastructure will be met with retaliation, and the criminal Zionist regime responsible for these actions will not be safe from the response of our fighters,” he said in a statement carried by Iranian state television.

The warning comes amid heightened tensions in the region following a series of military confrontations involving Iran, Israel and the United States.

Tehran has repeatedly accused Israel of carrying out attacks on Iranian targets and has vowed to respond to what it describes as acts of aggression against its territory and national assets.

The latest statement signals Iran’s determination to retaliate against any future strikes on critical infrastructure, further raising concerns about the possibility of a wider regional conflict.
