Delta-based activist Israel Joe has made fresh allegations concerning Anulika Onyeanusia, the mother reportedly arrested by police in Onitsha over allegations involving her seven-year-old daughter.
In a statement shared online, Israel Joe alleged that people connected to Onyeanusia, whom he referred to as her “Arabian” clients, were mobilising significant funds in an effort to influence the case and secure her release.
“Her (Arabian) clients are mobilizing serious funds to get a SAN, paint other narratives and get her out with extremely giant offer for……!” he alleged.
The statement has generated attention because of the serious nature of the claims, particularly the allegation that substantial funds were being mobilised and that a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) could be engaged in the matter.
Israel Joe, however, did not publicly provide evidence in the statement to substantiate the alleged fundraising, identify the individuals allegedly involved or establish what “other narratives” were purportedly being prepared.
The allegations come amid public concern over the reported arrest of Onyeanusia following accusations that she sexually abused her seven-year-old daughter. Such allegations involving a child are particularly sensitive and require proper investigation by the relevant authorities.
At the time of publication, the claims about attempts to influence the case or secure Onyeanusia’s release could not be independently verified.
