Israeli PM Calls for Total Gaza Reoccupation as Hostage Crisis Drags On

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to push forward with a new war plan in Gaza that includes a full military reoccupation of the territory.
His government aims to destroy Hamas completely and rescue the remaining Israeli hostages.
As tension rises, Netanyahu is preparing to meet top officials in the coming days.
He will brief Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, and military leaders about his updated strategy.
Though officials have not confirmed the meeting date, Israeli media outlets report that Netanyahu already outlined a goal to take over all of Gaza.
Kan, Israel’s public broadcaster, reported that Netanyahu has ordered the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to launch a plan to conquer the entire Gaza Strip.
Likewise, Maariv, a major Israeli newspaper, declared, “The die is cast. Israel is preparing for total conquest of Gaza.”
Meanwhile, the response from Palestinians remains defiant. Hamas and the Palestinian Authority strongly rejected the plan.
According to Hamas official Husam Badran, Israel and the United States are delaying the ceasefire deal. He told Al Jazeera, “We want to end the war. The responsibility now lies with Israel and America.”
At home, Netanyahu faces growing protests from Israeli families whose loved ones remain in Hamas captivity.
These families continue to demand an immediate ceasefire to bring back the 49 hostages still alive. They fear that further military operations may endanger their relatives.
Additionally, pressure from the international community is mounting. European leaders and humanitarian groups insist on a truce.
Some European countries have already begun talks to recognize a Palestinian state, ignoring objections from both Israel and the United States.
Backed by far-right allies, Netanyahu now leans toward total reoccupation.
His coalition also supports more control over the West Bank, adding fuel to regional unrest.
After nearly two years of war that began on October 7, 2023, Gaza’s humanitarian crisis has reached devastating levels.
Over 60,900 Palestinians have died, according to Gaza health authorities.
Now, nearly 2.4 million residents face extreme hunger, with aid agencies warning of a looming famine.
Despite this crisis, Israel has started allowing limited private trade into Gaza.
The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) announced that some merchants can deliver baby formula, fruits, hygiene products, and vegetables under close inspection.
Netanyahu remains firm. “We will defeat our enemies, free our hostages, and stop Gaza from threatening us again,” he declared Monday.
Now, the world watches closely. Netanyahu’s next decision could reshape the entire Middle East and determine how history remembers his leadership.
