A devastating tragedy has struck Vietnam’s popular tourist haven, Halong Bay, as a tourist boat carrying dozens of passengers capsized in stormy weather.

According to local reports, at least 28 people have died, while 14 others remain missing as rescue operations continue.

The incident occurred early Saturday, July 19, 2025, amid severe weather conditions in the northern region of the country.

Rescuers say heavy rain and strong winds played a major role in the accident, making the waters of Halong Bay unusually dangerous.

Halong Bay, known for its scenic limestone islands and emerald waters, attracts thousands of local and international tourists every year.

However, this tragic accident has now cast a dark shadow over the scenic destination.

More details coming.
